# Dashpop MCP — connect your agent

Build, edit and playtest games with your own agent.

MCP server URL: https://dashpop.com/api/mcp

Connect using Streamable HTTP and OAuth. Sign in to Dashpop and approve account access. No API key is needed. Ask your agent to list your games with dashpop.games.list and open the intended game with dashpop.games.open. Each session selects its own game.

For access to only one game, open https://dashpop.com/editor, choose the game and select **Connect agent**. It supplies a game-scoped URL and client configuration, and lets you manage and revoke approved clients. The public /mcp page is documentation, not a protocol endpoint. Local games use stdio and a private connection file; keep the local host running.

## Other agents / harnesses

Streamable HTTP connection:

```
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "dashpop": {
      "type": "http",
      "url": "https://dashpop.com/api/mcp"
    }
  }
}
```

Use a Streamable HTTP MCP client with OAuth discovery, dynamic client registration and S256 PKCE. Use this exact server URL as the OAuth resource. Preserve Mcp-Session-Id and the negotiated MCP-Protocol-Version. Refresh tools/list after tool-selection notifications.

## Agent handoff

# Dashpop game workspace

Use the Dashpop MCP server: https://dashpop.com/api/mcp.

Use dashpop.games.list, then dashpop.games.open to select the requested game for this session. Refresh tools/list after opening the game.

Discover and select authoring.describe first, then read it. Select the exact operations you need from the current catalog and refresh tools/list after selection. If the client cannot refresh its tool inventory, reconnect before continuing.

Read the relevant authoring.guidance references advertised by the game before planning or authoring. Work with the existing source, assets and Editor controls; preserve the creator’s changes and requested mechanics. Build and inspect the actual result before describing it as working.

Use Dashpop’s existing project tools for changes. Keep credentials in the client’s OAuth store or private local connection file. Ask for a bounded credit budget before paid asset generation.

Retirement: use maintained server discovery instead of these bootstrap instructions when it provides the same connection and guidance context.

## Troubleshooting

- Sign-in fails: use the exact server URL, complete account requirements, and check client/workspace policy.
- No game selected: call dashpop.games.list and dashpop.games.open, then refresh tools/list.
- Only discovery tools visible: select authoring.describe, refresh tools/list or reconnect.
- Expired session: initialize a new session. If access was revoked, request consent again.
- Local host unavailable: start it again and use the connection file for that checkout and game.
